Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mark Catalan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Clean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberto Clean is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Catalan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roberto Clean! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clean cracks Catalan with a right hand to the side of the head. Clean gets tackled into the cage by Catalan. Catalan maintains the clinch. Catalan is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Clean gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Catalan manages to break the clinch.
Clean lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Catalan lands with a thumping leg kick.
Clean scores with a jab. Catalan closes the distance and clinches. Catalan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Catalan misses with a double jab
and Catalan takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Clean tries to keep at a distance but Catalan has taken the fight into the clinch. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Catalan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

That's one minute gone in the round. Clean works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Clean throws a body punch but Catalan moves out of range. As Clean looks to move away, Catalan throws a big counter combo bu Clean just gets out of the way. Catalan gets in close and instigates a clinch. Clean wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Catalan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Clean displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Catalan throws out the jab. Catalan darts in looking for a takedown but Clean gets double underhooks and turns Catalan into the cage. Catalan definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Catalan. That's going to take a lot out of him. Some wild striking there from Clean.

Catalan seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression. Catalan taking a breather. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Catalan for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure. Catalan stalling.
Catalan blocks a body shot from Clean. Catalan lands a good knee to the midsection. Clean won't want to take too many of those. Catalan manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Clean connects with a body shot that sends Catalan's belly button to the back. Clean throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Clean showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Catalan.
Clean now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Catalan scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Clean lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook. Catalan's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Catalan duly obliges.
It looks like Roberto Clean has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Catalan closes the distance and pushes Clean back into the cage. Catalan tries to score a body lock takedown but Clean shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Catalan stalling in the clinch.
Clean has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Catalan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That was a close round but I would say that Mark Catalan will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Roberto Clean's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Clean lands the left hand. Clean scores with a punch to the head. Roberto Clean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Clean throws a nice looking combination but Catalan bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Catalan shoots in looking for a takedown but Clean manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Catalan's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Clean with a jab. Clean throws a series of strikes that have Catalan backpedaling.
Catalan rushes Clean and presses him up against the cage. Catalan pulls guard. Catalan controls Clean momentarily but Clean frees himself. Clean stands and steps away. Catalan gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Catalan fails with an attempt to clinch.

and Catalan counters with a lovely straight right hand! Catalan throws a right hand that Clean ducks under and follows up with a left that Clean also avoids with ease. Clean now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Catalan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Danga de danga de dang - Clean scores with a four punch combination! Clean might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Catalan gets a clinch. Catalan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Clean cracks Catalan with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Catalan looks to land a combination. Clean sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Catalan tries to clinch there but Clean circles away.

Clean lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Clean bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Catalan's head. Clean is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Clean misses with a double jab.

Catalan closes the distance but Clean moves to the side and Clean counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Clean pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Clean lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Clean throws a good cross that connects.

Clean connects with a single shot there. Catalan looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Clean lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Catalan throws out a powerful jab. Catalan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Clean moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Catalan takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Clean connects with a body shot. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roberto Clean showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Roberto Clean's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Catalan on the wrong end of a nice hook. Catalan moves in looking to clinch but Clean pushes him off. Clean throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Clean goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Catalan looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
