The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carroll swats away the attempt to clinch by Mendonca.
Ramos Mendonca seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mendonca fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carroll sprawls well initially but Mendonca persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
We've been informed that Mendonca has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mendonca connects with a nice short shot to Carroll's temple.

Mendonca lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Carroll! More strikes land and this one is all over! Mendonca jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!

After the fight, Ramos Mendonca was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
