Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Terrell Buckley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocco Balboa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terrell Buckley ! The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Balboa lands a slapping body shot.
Balboa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Buckley defends it nicely. Buckley keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Balboa. Balboa takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Balboa misses with a left hand enabling Buckley to counter with a crisp jab. Buckley keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Left hook, right uppercut from Balboa. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick misses from Balboa. Balboa tries a head kick but it misses.
Balboa lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Balboa doesn't succeed with the takedown and Buckley counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocco Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckley circles away from the clinch attempt.
Buckley looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Balboa has his takedown stuffed and Buckley counters with a lovely straight right hand! Decent striking displayed by Buckley there. A left lands for Buckley . Buckley lands a lovely overhand right. Buckley avoids the body shot from Balboa.
Buckley tests Balboa's chin there with a solid looking shot. Buckley lands an overhand right. Buckley throws a right and a left that both miss. Rocco Balboa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Balboa throws a head kick that misses and Buckley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Balboa's guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Buckley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckley throwing strikes but missing. Balboa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Buckley gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Buckley has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Buckley won't allow Balboa to get back to his feet. Buckley stays in close to Balboa's body and controls the position. Buckley with a nice head shot there. Balboa preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buckley wants to get up but he can't break Balboa's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Buckley connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Balboa scores with a head kick.

Buckley is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Balboa had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Balboa missing with a left hand there. Buckley was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Buckley uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Balboa has time to react. Balboa looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Balboa looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Balboa fails with a takedown attempt. Buckley takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Balboa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Buckley sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Buckley ! But no joy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Balboa tries to clinch but fails miserably and Buckley counters with a lovely shot to the body. Balboa shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. This has been an exciting period of action! Balboa wants to clinch up but Buckley keeps it at a distance. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Buckley ! But no joy. Balboa has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Buckley finds it's way round the side to connect with Balboa's head. Balboa misses with an uppercut
enabling Buckley to counter with a crisp jab. Balboa doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Balboa takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Buckley cracks Balboa with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Balboa is rocked! Buckley might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable. Balboa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Buckley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Buckley has his hands on Balboa's head, controlling the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Terrell Buckley dominated that round. That's time! Balboa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Nice takedown defense from Buckley . No joy for Balboa on that attempt. A big left from Balboa misses. Buckley throws out a counter right but Balboa avoids it with no problem. Buckley dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Balboa tries for a takedown but Buckley circles away easily and Buckley counters with a lovely straight right hand! Balboa with a poor takedown and Buckley counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rocco Balboa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Balboa closes the distance looking to clinch and Buckley counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Balboa throws a sloppy head kick and Buckley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Balboa's guard. Buckley throws a big elbow that misses. Buckley with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Oh Balboa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Buckley trying to control the position from guard on top but Balboa is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Balboa seems to have got his legs back now.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buckley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Buckley distracts Balboa with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Balboa is looking for a triangle here but Buckley uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Buckley connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Balboa some visible discomfort.
Balboa is working to avoid the ground and pound but Buckley connects with a decent elbow. Buckley trying to control the action but Balboa is working from the bottom. Buckley lands a few punches from side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buckley grinds an elbow into Balboa's temple. Balboa strikes from the bottom but Buckley takes advantage and advances to full mount! Buckley pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Buckley lands a big shot to the head and Balboa winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
