Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lance Fisher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Genghis Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lance Fisher!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Genghis Khan!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Khan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fisher defends well and Khan ends up having to push Fisher into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Khan shoots and misses

and Fisher holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Fisher keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Khan's efforts to push away.
Khan can't break the clinch.

Fisher manages to break the clinch.

Khan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Khan is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Khan wants to free his trapped foot but Fisher is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Fisher moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Fisher definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Khan trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Khan trying to control but Fisher is working from the bottom.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Fisher is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Lance Fisher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Fisher moves into the clinch.

Fisher gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Khan regains full guard. Nicely done.
Khan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fisher. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fisher drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fisher jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fisher is pushing down on Khan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Khan is fighting to maintain full guard but Fisher has managed to sneak the leg through.
Khan has hold of Fisher's hands but Fisher slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Khan is positioning himself well to prevent Fisher advancing to mount.
Khan tries to kick Fisher off but Fisher keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Khan is trying to stand up here but Fisher is controlling him well.
Khan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fisher is working away from the top position though.

Fisher is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Khan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Fisher.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Khan has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Fisher is working away from the top position though.

Khan wants to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Fisher wants to clinch up but Khan keeps it at a distance.
Khan wants to counter the offense by Fisher and move into the clinch position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Khan.
Khan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Fisher but Fisher pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Khan tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Fisher defends well and Khan ends up having to push Fisher into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Lance Fisher has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Genghis Khan.

Khan is trying to force a seperation but Fisher has the dominant position.
Khan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Khan has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Fisher breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Fisher looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Khan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Khan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fisher drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Fisher is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Khan has escaped the position, nice work there.
Khan struggling a bit here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Khan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fisher tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Fisher is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Khan can do to turn this around?
You can see the frustration on Khan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Fisher cracks Khan with a big right hand but Khan just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Khan is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Fisher off and has taken his back!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Fisher is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Khan lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Fisher looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Khan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Fisher defends it well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lance Fisher dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Khan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fisher has him pressed against the cage.
Khan is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Fisher tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Fisher has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Khan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fisher is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Khan knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Genghis Khan has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Khan is trying to control Fisher's posture but Fisher avoids it.
Fisher creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Lance Fisher is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
A lull in the action here.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
The referee asks Fisher politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Fisher prefers to stall for the moment though.

Well Fisher has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
