Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charley Goodwin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Lenco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Charley Goodwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Johnny Lenco! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Goodwin tries to clinch but Lenco moves out of range. Johnny Lenco seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Goodwin. Goodwin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Lenco circles away. Goodwin throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lenco's waist but Lenco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Goodwin off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Charley Goodwin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Lenco takes the fight into the clinch. Lenco keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Goodwin's efforts to push away. Lenco is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lenco is trying to pull guard but Goodwin has him pressed against the cage. Lenco wants to take the fight to the mat but Goodwin manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Goodwin is trying to maintain a safe position but Lenco gets an underhook and turns Goodwin into the cage. Lenco successfully pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Lenco is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Goodwin lands a couple of digs. Lenco pulls Goodwin in to control the position. Lenco is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Goodwin stands and steps away. Lenco gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lenco shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goodwin as he jumps to the side. Goodwin shoots in for a double leg but Lenco sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Goodwin shoots in looking for a takedown but Lenco manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goodwin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Horrible takedown attempt by Lenco or perhaps it was just good defense by Goodwin, which made it look bad. Goodwin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Lenco swivels and escapes. Lenco scores with a kick to the midsection. Lenco clinches with his opponent.
Goodwin is trying to break free. Goodwin is trying to break the clinch but Lenco is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lenco jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Goodwin walks away with a smile on his face. Lenco gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Lenco misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Goodwin shoots in for a double leg but Lenco sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Goodwin is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lenco sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Lenco has closed the distance and engaged Goodwin in a clinch.

Goodwin looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Goodwin breaks from the clinch.
Goodwin leaves Lenco with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Goodwin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Goodwin wants it to stay on the feet. Lenco looks winded! Lenco rushes Goodwin and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goodwin is trying to break the clinch but Lenco has him pressed against the cage. Goodwin is looking for a takedown. Nice body punch from Lenco - that landed with a thud.

Goodwin ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Goodwin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Goodwin really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Lenco is stalling in the full guard. Goodwin not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Lenco pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Goodwin is keeping the position for now. Lenco postures up.

Johnny Lenco dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Lenco throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Goodwin's waist but Goodwin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lenco off to one side. Lenco pushes Goodwin up against the cage in a clinch. Lenco has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Lenco pushes Goodwin back against the cage and unloads with a body punch. Goodwin is trying to break the clinch but Lenco has him pressed against the cage. Lenco breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lenco dives in and grabs Goodwin's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goodwin pushes down on Lenco's head and hops out. Goodwin shoots in for a takedown but Lenco shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Lenco misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Charley Goodwin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Johnny Lenco. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lenco works over Goodwin's head and body with a nice combination. Lenco rushes Goodwin and presses him up against the cage.

Lenco breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Goodwin wants to clinch. Lenco closes this distance looking for a takedown but Goodwin circles away. Lenco displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Goodwin. Lenco shoots and misses and Goodwin counters by clinching up. Goodwin wants to break the clinch but can't.

Lenco is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Goodwin pulls his head out easily. Lenco moves into full guard.
Goodwin is looking to work some ground and pound but Lenco has wrist control. Lenco looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Goodwin has picked Lenco up and slammed him! Lenco can't keep hold of the triangle and Goodwin manages to pass to side control! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Johnny Lenco will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!
Lenco defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Goodwin. Lenco gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Goodwin counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Goodwin. Goodwin is trying to break the clinch but Lenco is controlling him. Lenco has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Goodwin uses from the top position. Goodwin preventing the sweep. Goodwin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Goodwin is looking to stand up but Lenco won't let him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goodwin postures up.
Goodwin will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Goodwin would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lenco is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lenco takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Lenco might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Goodwin haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Goodwin looking to control but Lenco passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Goodwin looking for submissions off his back. Lenco is looking to take a break and control but Goodwin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Lenco throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Goodwin wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Goodwin throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lenco was covering up waiting for the punch and Goodwin finishes the takedown easily into guard. Lenco looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lenco is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Goodwin presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Lenco lands a body shot in the clinch.

Lenco escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Goodwin tries to clinch but Lenco is having none of it. A combination from Lenco does no damage. Lenco throws a leg kick and Goodwin counters with a takedown into side control. Lenco regains half guard. Lenco trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Lenco flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Goodwin won't let Lenco get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Charley Goodwin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Johnny Lenco is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Goodwin dominating with strikes here.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charley Goodwin. I think Lenco has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
