Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Darrick Wagner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darrick Wagner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Clayton! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wagner closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Wagner landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Wagner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Clayton keeps working. Clayton wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Wagner trying to control the position but Clayton is working away. Clayton tries to escape but Wagner is in control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wagner wants to stand but Clayton is controlling his arm. Clayton is looking to reverse the position. Wagner decides to stand back up. Clayton shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Wagner is trying to defend but Clayton finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wagner is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Clayton controlling the pace. Wagner really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Clayton is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Clayton seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Wagner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Wagner wants to get back to full guard but Clayton has mounted him! Wagner tries to improve his position but instead Clayton has taken his back! Wagner rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Clayton seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clayton scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Wagner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wagner. Clayton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wagner is keeping the position for now. Clayton slips nicely into half guard. Wagner slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wagner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clayton controls the pace. Clayton stands up and waves to Wagner to follow him. Clayton moves into the clinch successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Clayton has hold of one of Wagner's legs. Wagner is fighting the takedown attempt but Clayton gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Wagner looking to hit a scissor sweep but Clayton is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Clayton dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Clayton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wagner's guard. Max Clayton has got the better of the ground game so far. Clayton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Wagner is keeping the position for now. Clayton wants to control from the top but Wagner keeps moving. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clayton looking to sit in guard and control but Wagner gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Clayton has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Wagner gets to his feet - Clayton follows without any prompting.
That's one minute gone in the round. Excellent takedown into side control there by Clayton. Clayton wants to control but Wagner is keeping him busy. Clayton has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Clayton leaves Wagner with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Clayton fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wagner, pushing him back against the cage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Clayton taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Clayton is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wagner can't fight it off and eventually Clayton manages to take the fight to the floor. Wagner looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. Clayton seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Wagner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Clayton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Wagner keeping moving, preventing Clayton from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wagner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Clayton controls the pace. Wagner looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wagner has his foot on Clayton's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Clayton works his way back into a safe position though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Wagner keeping moving, preventing Clayton from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Clayton darts in and clinches Wagner up against the cage. Wagner tries for a takedown. No joy.
Clayton pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Clayton manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Wagner on his heels. He'll look to pass Wagner's guard now, I'm sure. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Clayton stands up from guard. Let's bang! Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Clayton looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Wagner! Clayton scores with punches from side control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Max Clayton showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Clayton gets a takedown into half guard. Clayton is looking for a kimura but Wagner is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Clayton to get the leverage. Clayton decides to return to a standing position. Clayton closes the distance and pushes Wagner back into the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Clayton can't find room to land a body shot as Wagner controls the action.
Wagner escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's one minute gone in the round. Clayton turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Clayton manages to end up in side control. Wagner is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Clayton off and has taken his back! Clayton trying to get back to his feet but Wagner is in full control for now. Clayton is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Wagner is trying to control but Clayton is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
Wagner wants to control the pace but Clayton is squirming around nicely. Clayton really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wagner tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Clayton is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Clayton tries to hold on but Wagner postures up. Clayton takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Wagner content just to control the position here. Wagner avoids the attempt from Clayton to control. Wagner looking to control but Clayton is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Wagner is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Clayton is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Clayton wants to hold on but Wagner pushes him away. Clayton flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Wagner takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Clayton is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Clayton tries to hold on but Wagner postures up. Darrick Wagner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Max Clayton is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Wagner postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Clayton looks a forlorn figure.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Max Clayton. Well Clayton has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
