Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Barron!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conor Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barron closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nelson's guard.
Nelson wants to stand and escape but Barron is having none of it.
Barron postures up in Nelson's guard and throws a big left but Nelson blocks it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barron landing with the ground and pound.
Nelson has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Nelson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Barron is controlling him.
Barron in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nelson looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Barron passes into side control.
Barron throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Barron is chipping away with strikes.
Nelson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Barron.
Nelson is trying to control Barron's posture but Barron avoids it.

Nelson is pushing Barron's head away, looking to escape. Barron manages to hold on to the position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nelson wants to control but Barron postures up.
Nelson is looking for a sweep.
Nelson is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Nelson keeping hold of Barron's head, controlling as best he can.
Barron will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Nelson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Barron.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nelson tries to get to full guard but Barron has control of the leg.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Nelson is looking to control Barron's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nelson avoid being mounted?

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Barron really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Barron misses with a jab to the body
and Nelson counters with a left and a right that stings Barron.
Nelson stuffs the takedown.
Nelson replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Barron blocks it well.

Barron shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Barron showed some decent athleticism there.
Nelson pushes Barron off looking to stand but Barron dives back in and keeps control.
Nelson keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Nelson is looking to control Barron's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Nelson avoid being mounted?

Nelson is looking to escape.
Nelson is looking for a sweep. Barron is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Ground and pound from Barron.
Nelson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Barron's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Barron's back!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Barron tries to roll but Nelson sticks to his back.
Nelson is looking to control Barron but Barron is wriggling around and keeping busy.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nelson somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Nelson lands with a slapping head kick.

Nelson closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Nelson is keen to just control but Barron is a slippery customer.
Barron has his hands clasped together around Nelson's back. He's all about the action.
Barron wants to control but Nelson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Nelson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Barron is now in Nelson's guard. A big mistake from Nelson there, giving up the dominant position!

Barron postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Nelson wants to stand and escape but Barron is having none of it.
Nelson wants to sweep here but Barron controlling him for the moment.
Barron missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Nelson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Barron is in close to Nelson's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Barron drops back looking for a leg! Nelson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nelson manages to kick Barron off! Barron jumps back into Nelson's guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Barron fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Despite the aggression on Nelson's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Cody Barron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nelson throws the kick towards the body but Barron avoids it.
Barron seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Barron fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Nelson avoids it really well and circles away.

Nelson gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Nelson has hold of one of Barron's legs. Barron is fighting the takedown attempt but Nelson gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Conor Nelson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Barron shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nelson sprawls well. Nelson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Barron gets slowly back to his feet.

Barron has a closed guard, preventing Nelson from standing up.
Barron wants to hit a switch here but Nelson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Barron there!

Barron is rocked!
Barron takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Nelson's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
