The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nuts takes a swing at Frederson's ribcage but misses.

Frederson instigates a clinch.
Frederson has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Nuts after a bit of a struggle.
Nuts is trying to break the clinch but Frederson has him pressed against the cage.

Frederson successfully pulls guard.

Frederson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Nuts defends well.
Frederson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frederson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Nuts to stand up.
Frederson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mike Nuts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nuts keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mike Nuts has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fred Frederson.

Nuts lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Frederson is rocked!

It looks like Fred Frederson has been cut.
Nuts looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Nuts misses with the combination.
Frederson is still on wobbly legs! Can Nuts finish him?
Nuts lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Frederson is looking to close the distance but Nuts sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Frederson crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Frederson is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
