Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mario Jose Binay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mario Jose Binay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ivan Kozlov!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Binay misses with a looping right.
Kozlov takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Binay fails with an attempt to clinch.
Kozlov's corner calls for a 1-2. Kozlov obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Binay tries to work over Kozlov's front leg with a kick but Kozlov checks it.

Binay moves into range and clinches up with Kozlov.
Binay looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Binay lands a shot to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Kozlov's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Binay lands an elbow just above Kozlov 's eye.


It looks like Ivan Kozlov has been cut.
Kozlov looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Binay.
Kozlov wants to break free but Binay has control.
Kozlov digs a right hand underneath Binay's ribcage. Binay let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Binay goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kozlov blocks a body shot from Binay.
Kozlov's coach down at The Clinic was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Kozlov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Binay lands an elbow just above Kozlov 's eye.
A hook to the body from Binay.
Kozlov has had enough of the clinch but Binay keeps him there for the moment.
Kozlov takes an elbow to the temple.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Binay crunches a lovely knee into Kozlov's ribcage.
Kozlov is trying to break free.
Kozlov wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kozlov doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Kozlov throws a punch but it's blocked by Binay.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Binay obliges.
Binay lands a nice knee to the body.
Kozlov looks winded!
Kozlov lands a right hand that snaps the head of Binay backwards.
Binay prevents Kozlov from breaking the clinch.
Kozlov struggles to land a body shot inside as Binay controls his hands.
Kozlov goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Binay lands an elbow inside.
Kozlov lands a left hand that snaps the head of Binay backwards.
Binay lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Kozlov.
Binay lands an elbow inside.
Kozlov misses with the head strike.
Binay lands an elbow inside.
A short right from Binay on the inside.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Binay lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Binay lands a knee to the body.
Binay lands a nice elbow.
Binay creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Kozlov's defenses.


Kozlov is rocked!
Binay lands a left hand that snaps the head of Kozlov backwards.
Kozlov is still on wobbly legs! Can Binay finish him?
Binay's Muay Thai looks sharper than normal. He has obviously been working on it in the gym.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Binay.
Binay softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
Binay scores with a knee to the head.
Binay comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Binay digs a right hand into Kozlov's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Kozlov's gas tank.
Binay has Kozlov pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Kozlov is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Binay - that's hurt Kozlov badly! Oh, another knee lands and Kozlov is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Kozlov doesn't seem to be complaining.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:12 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Mario Jose Binay!
Our winner, Mario Jose Binay, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
