Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jarik Belson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aapo Ik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
12 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jarik Belson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aapo Ik! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Belson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ik moves away. Belson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ik on the side of the head. Belson throws a series of strikes that have Ik backpedaling.
Belson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Belson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Belson walks into a jab. Ik closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Belson did well to prevent Ik getting side control. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ik connects with a nice short shot to Belson's temple. Belson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Belson is holding on to half guard well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Ik trying to control the action but Belson is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ik missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Belson avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ik. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Ik lands with a punch from half guard. Belson keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Belson wants to improve his position but Ik is controlling well.
Belson is staying active underneath Ik, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Ik slips a nice elbow through Belson's hands, connecting with Belson's forehead. Ik is working for a kimura but Belson is defending it quite comfortably.

Belson is rocked! Ik is figuring out what he wants to do next. Belson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Ik. Belson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ik is working away from the top position though. Belson tries to get to full guard but Ik has control of the leg. Ik wants to control but Belson is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ik scoring with strikes to the body and head. Oh Belson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ik wants to work for an arm triangle but Belson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Belson seems to have got his legs back now. Ik looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Belson is not content to let Ik control the position. Ik looks to land a strike but Belson avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Belson wants to sweep here but Ik controlling him for the moment. Belson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Ik preventing the sweep. Belson controls Ik momentarily but Ik frees himself. My spies in The Jungle Elite MMA inform me that Ik has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends! Ik trying to control the position from guard on top but Belson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ik lands a couple of decent looking shots.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ik is aware though and is defending well. Ik with a nice head shot there. Ik wants to control from the top but Belson keeps moving. Belson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ik connects with a couple of short punches. Ik throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Belson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Ik lands a couple of digs. Belson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Ik trying to hold on to Belson's head to control him but Belson postures up.
Ik tries to get to full guard but Belson has control of the leg. Ik is still trying to improve position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aapo Ik dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Belson works Ik's body with a nice hook. Ik takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Belson throws a combination that misses and Ik counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Belson is defending against the submission attempts here by Ik.

Ik has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Ik with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Belson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. That's two minutes gone in the round. Ik engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Belson trying to control the position.
Belson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ik defends well. Ik is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Ik throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Belson works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Belson has his hands on Ik's head, controlling the position. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Belson keeping full guard, as Ik tries to pass. Ik throws a big right hand that misses. Ik showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Ik throws a big elbow that misses. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ik wants to control from the top but Belson keeps moving.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Ik misses with a series of wild punches.
Belson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ik sprawls and moves away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aapo Ik showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Ik moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Belson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Ik throws out the jab. Belson misses the shot to the body. Ik misses with a takedown attempt - Belson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Ik uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Belson.
Belson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Ik sees it coming and avoids it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ik is defended easily by Belson. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nice sprawl there from Ik as Belson shoots in.

Ik misses with a takedown attempt - Belson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Jarik Belson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aapo Ik. Belson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ik. Good shot there by Ik. Belson just misses with a punch to the body.
And Ik tries to counter it with a takedown but Belson pushes his down on his head and steps out. Ik shoots for a double leg takedown but Belson sprawls well. He's pushed Ik's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Belson changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Belson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Belson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ik moves away. Ik tries to score a power double leg takedown but Belson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Ik somewhat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ik looks to throw the jab but Belson is out of range. Belson attempts a counter takedown but Ik avoids it well and moves away. Belson takes a swing at Ik's ribcage but misses. Ik displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Belson throws out the jab. A little jabbing left from Ik on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Ik misses the jab. Belson misses with a wild body shot. Belson throws a jab but it's blocked by Ik. Ik shoots in looking for a takedown. Belson tries to sprawl out of it but Ik keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Belson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ik throws a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belson looks to land a left hand but Ik moved out of range nicely. Belson misses with an uppercut. Nice cross by Ik. Jarik Belson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Horrible takedown attempt by Ik or perhaps it was just good defense by Belson, which made it look bad. Belson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ik circles away quickly and effectively. Ik looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ik shoots in for a takedown but Belson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Belson drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ik sprawls and moves away. Belson misses with a body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ik smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Belson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Ik clobbers Belson with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Belson misses with a hook. A slow jab from Belson misses its intended target. A chopping leg kick lands by Ik. Belson misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Ik counters with a nice uppercut. Belson misses with a body shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A big right from Belson misses. Ik uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Belson. Ik is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Belson's half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jarik Belson. I think Ik has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
