Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rolf Nolan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Liam Wilkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liam Wilkins is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Rolf Nolan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Liam Wilkins! The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wilkins closes the distance and pushes Nolan back into the cage. Wilkins has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Nolan is trying to keep an underhook but Wilkins manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wilkins is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Nolan defends it well. Wilkins stops Nolan from getting back to his feet.
Nolan is trying to get back to full guard. Nolan pushes Wilkins off looking to stand but Wilkins dives back in and keeps control.
Nolan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Nolan. Nolan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wilkins is one step ahead there. Nolan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wilkins with a nice head shot there. Wilkins won't allow Nolan to sweep him here. Nolan really is a fat lump. Nolan keeping moving, preventing Wilkins from controlling successfully. Wilkins thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Wilkins is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nolan doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wilkins. Wilkins is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nolan sees it coming and defends easily. Nolan controlling the position well. Wilkins wants to work for an arm triangle but Nolan is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilkins working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nolan is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Wilkins asserts his dominance and retains side control. Wilkins scores with punches from side control. Nolan struggling a bit here. Nolan is trying to improve his position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wilkins working away. Nolan tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Wilkins shoots for a double leg takedown but Nolan sprawls well. He's pushed Wilkins's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Wilkins shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Nice sprawl there from Nolan as Wilkins shoots in. Rolf Nolan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Liam Wilkins. Wilkins gets in close and instigates a clinch. That's one minute gone in the round. Wilkins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nolan is one step ahead there. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wilkins. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Nolan is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Nolan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Nolan throws a big elbow that misses. Wilkins preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Wilkins is pulling down on Nolan's head. It's preventing any offense from Nolan, at least for the moment. Nolan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Nolan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Wilkins is proving hard to escape from.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wilkins working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Nolan. Nolan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Wilkins has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Nolan off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds. Wilkins has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Nolan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Wilkins. A punch combination from Nolan misses. Nolan fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Wilkins closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nolan circles away. Nolan is looking for a counter combo. Excellent takedown into side control there by Wilkins. Nolan gets back to half guard. Nolan is looking to escape.

Now he's in guard on top. Nolan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Wilkins lands a couple of decent looking shots. Wilkins works a leg free and moves into half guard. Wilkins looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Nolan is looking for a sweep. Wilkins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
