Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rahkim Abdullah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiteri comes into a darkened arena with his song building. AC/DC -TNT kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rahkim Abdullah has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rahkim Abdullah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Spiteri!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Abdullah.
Spiteri throws a right hand that Abdullah ducks under and follows up with a left that Abdullah also avoids with ease.
Abdullah moves away from the strike by Spiteri.

Abdullah decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Abdullah is trying to control. Spiteri wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Abdullah throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Spiteri's waist but Spiteri gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Abdullah off to one side.

Abdullah closes this distance looking for a takedown but Spiteri circles away.
Abdullah uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spiteri.

Spiteri takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Some wild striking there from Abdullah.
Spiteri ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Abdullah moves away.
Spiteri stalks Abdullah and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Abdullah's face. Abdullah staggers backwards, shaken.

and Spiteri connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Spiteri lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Abdullah needs to keep his hands up - Spiteri had a free shot at his head there.
Spiteri fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Abdullah on the side of the head.

Abdullah misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Abdullah stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Spiteri dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Spiteri throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Abdullah on the side of the head.
Abdullah dodges the punch combination from Spiteri.
Spiteri waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Abdullah.
Abdullah feinted with a counter takedown.
Abdullah changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Spiteri tries to avoid it but Abdullah manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Spiteri to the ground. Spiteri escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Abdullah ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Spiteri moves away.
Spiteri looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Abdullah throws a good cross that connects.
Spiteri cracks a nice hook into Abdullah's ribs.
Spiteri feints a jab promting Abdullah to slip. Spiteri then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Abdullah slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Abdullah shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Spiteri but Spiteri pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Spiteri has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Rahkim Abdullah is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spiteri dives in and grabs Abdullah's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abdullah pushes down on Spiteri's head and hops out.
Rahkim Abdullah seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Abdullah looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Spiteri lands a leg kick that knocks Abdullah off balance momentarily.
Spiteri tries to work over Abdullah's front leg with a kick but Abdullah checks it.
Abdullah went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Abdullah lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Spiteri at a distance.

Abdullah is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Spiteri walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Abdullah checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Abdullah takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Spiteri is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Abdullah with a body shot.
Spiteri lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Abdullah circles away quickly and effectively.
Abdullah closes the distance and clinches up with Spiteri, looking for a takedown. Abdullah pushes Spiteri against the cage but Spiteri circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Spiteri keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Abdullah looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Spiteri is fending him off so far but Abdullah persists. Nope, Spiteri circles away and we're back to standing.
Abdullah connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Abdullah takes a body punch but keeps moving.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Abdullah gets the takedown into side control.
Spiteri is looking for a sweep.
Spiteri is still trying to improve position.
Abdullah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spiteri keeps working.
Spiteri is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dave Spiteri showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Abdullah throws a combination that misses
and Spiteri counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Spiteri as he connects with a hook.
Spiteri throws a good cross that connects.
Oh Abdullah is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Spiteri lands a big uppercut and Abdullah crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Abdullah looks OK. Spiteri waves Abdullah back to his feet!
Spiteri cracks Abdullah with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Abdullah tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Spiteri pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Abdullah is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Dave Spiteri!
Dave Spiteri gave a mention to Bad Man Clothing (Nothing Over $40) in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
