0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Louis Santos Jr! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pablo throws a series of punches but Santos Jr avoids them all with ease. Pablo scores with a nice right hand.
Santos Jr looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Pablo will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Pablo tries to keep at a distance but Santos Jr has taken the fight into the clinch. Pablo manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pablo shoots in but no luck this time. Santos Jr throws out a counter right but Pablo avoids it with no problem. Santos Jr takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Santos Jr changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Santos Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Santos Jr wants it to stay on the feet. Santos Jr showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pablo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pablo tries to sprawl but Santos Jr drives through with a takedown into half guard. Santos Jr trying to control the action but Pablo is working from the bottom. Pablo pushes Santos Jr away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Santos Jr gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pablo is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Santos Jr's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Santos Jr seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pablo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Pablo pushes Santos Jr off and gets back to his feet. Santos Jr dives in and scores a takedown into Pablo's guard. Pablo is breathing heavily. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Santos Jr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Santos Jr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Santos Jr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Santos Jr advances to half guard. Santos Jr is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Santos Jr prevents Pablo from standing back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A jab from Pablo misses. Pablo swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Santos Jr counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Santos Jr. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Santos Jr won't allow Pablo to get back to his feet. Pablo trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful. Santos Jr lands a couple of elbows. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Santos Jr pushes down on Pablo's leg and manages to get into half guard. Santos Jr works his way into full mount! Santos Jr looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Santos Jr landing strikes from the mount. Santos Jr controlling the pace for now. Pablo is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Santos Jr lands a heavy elbow. Pablo is trying to stand but he's just given Santos Jr his back. Santos Jr has good solid back control here. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Pablo wants to control his opponent's hands but Santos Jr gets his hands free. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Louis Santos Jr dominated that round. That's time! Pablo's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Santos Jr moves into the clinch. Santos Jr escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pablo swings for the body but Santos Jr moves out of range.
As Pablo backs off Santos Jr throws a huge counter combo but Pablo manages to avoid it all. Santos Jr dodges the punch combination from Pablo.
Juan Pablo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pablo throws a series of punches but Santos Jr moves out of range. Pablo tries to bum rush Santos Jr with a series of wild strikes but Santos Jr uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Santos Jr doesn't manage to clinch there - Pablo circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Santos Jr or perhaps it was just good defense by Pablo, which made it look bad. Pablo swinging wildly here.

Pablo is fighting to maintain full guard but Santos Jr has managed to sneak the leg through. Louis Santos Jr has got the better of the ground game so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pablo tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Santos Jr manages to move to mount!
Pablo's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Pablo flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Pablo is trying to get back to his feet but can't. Santos Jr looking to control and managing it successfully. Santos Jr wants to control the pace but Pablo is squirming around nicely. Santos Jr working Pablo over with strikes here. Santos Jr controlling the position easily from mount.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pablo tries to improve his position but instead Santos Jr has taken his back! Santos Jr keeps control of the position as Pablo tries to break free.
Pablo staying busy and making it hard for Santos Jr to control. Pablo is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Santos Jr is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Pablo won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Santos Jr off his unconscious opponent!
