Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Horst Schiller! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
14 - 23 - 0, fighting out of London, Dakota Weston! The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, William Gold and Sam Margolis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schiller fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Schiller throws a quick inside leg kick. Schiller throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Weston fails with a takedown attempt. A good leg kick by Schiller. Horrible takedown attempt by Weston or perhaps it was just good defense by Schiller, which made it look bad. Schiller turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Good leg kick by Schiller there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Weston shoots in for a takedown but Schiller shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Horst Schiller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dakota Weston. Weston tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schiller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Weston somewhat. Schiller throws a wild body kick that Weston sees coming a mile off. Weston goes for a double leg but Schiller avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Schiller continues to drive forward. Weston misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. We've been told by Schiller's head coaches at The Iron Palace that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. A bone on bone clash there as Weston blocks the leg kick.
Schiller slaps away a takedown attempt from Weston, before circling back to the center of the mat. Schiller tried to counter with a leg kick but Weston avoided it. Schiller defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Weston. Weston chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Schiller can pounce on him.
That kick from Schiller tenderised Weston's leg. Weston is trying to keep his angry face on. Schiller fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Weston checks it well. Weston has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Schiller misses with an uppercut. Weston walks into a stiff left hand from Schiller. Nice sprawl there from Schiller as Weston shoots in. Schiller was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Weston looks for a takedown but Schiller sprawls well. Schiller scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Weston tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schiller sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Weston somewhat. Schiller fires out a quick counter leg kick but Weston just manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Weston connects with a crisp jab. Schiller tries to land a front kick but Weston steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Weston fails with a takedown attempt. Weston on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Schiller throws a body shot but no joy. Schiller throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. As Schiller backs off Weston throws a huge counter combo but Schiller manages to avoid it all. Weston tries for a takedown but Schiller circles away easily and Schiller connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Weston shoots for a takedown but Schiller saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Weston fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schiller avoids it really well and circles away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Good leg kick by Schiller there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Horst Schiller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schiller feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Weston's calf. Schiller tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Horst Schiller is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Schiller lands with a nice body kick. Schiller chopping away at his opponent's legs.
A nice inside leg kick there by Schiller. That's going to slow Weston down. Weston tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Weston keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Weston misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Weston is defended easily by Schiller. Schiller tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Schiller keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Weston takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Schiller thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Weston if he has to take too many more of those.
Decent striking displayed by Schiller there. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Weston moves out of range of the leg kick from Schiller. Weston throws out a counter right but Schiller avoids it with no problem. Weston scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Nice uppercut lands for Weston. That snapped Schiller's head back.
Schiller throws a nice outside leg kick. Weston shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Weston takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Weston ducks under a wild hook from Schiller. Weston shoots in for a takedown but Schiller shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Weston dives in for a single leg takedown but Schiller sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Weston looks winded! Horrible takedown attempt by Weston or perhaps it was just good defense by Schiller, which made it look bad. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Horst Schiller dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Weston looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Schiller is fending him off so far but Weston persists. Nope, Schiller circles away and we're back to standing. Schiller throws a low kick but Weston moves out of range easily. Weston fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. A little feinted left hand from Schiller on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Schiller is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Weston. Weston fails with a takedown attempt. Horst Schiller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dakota Weston. Weston checks the leg kick nicely there.
Despite the aggression on Weston's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Schiller is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Weston can do to turn this around? Schiller misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Schiller leaves Weston with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Schiller tries to score with a low kick but Weston moves his leg out of the way. As Schiller backs off Weston throws a huge counter combo but Schiller manages to avoid it all. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schiller misses with an uppercut. Weston tries for a takedown but Schiller sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Weston has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Schiller. Schiller fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Schiller chopping away at his opponent's legs.

A leg kick checked by Weston. The fighters circling - Schiller throws out the jab but it was never going to land. A clash of legs there as Weston blocks the low kick. Schiller lands a leg kick that knocks Weston off balance momentarily. Weston shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Schiller as he avoids it easily. Weston's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. A bone on bone clash there as Weston blocks the leg kick.
Schiller loads up on a big right hand but Weston slips the punch. Weston throws a counter combo. Weston avoids a kick to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Schiller lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Weston has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Weston and we're back underway with a touch of gloves. Weston dives in and grabs Schiller's left leg, looking for a takedown. Schiller pushes down on Weston's head and hops out. Schiller connects with a solid leg kick. Weston shoots in but Schiller avoids the takedown attempt easily. Weston just misses with a punch to the body.
Schiller misses with a leg kick. Weston steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Schiller.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schiller misses with a wild body shot. Weston shoots and misses and Schiller counters with a slapping leg kick. Weston is breathing heavily. Schiller lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Weston checks a leg kick. Schiller scores with a head kick.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice shot lands for Schiller. Weston shoots in but Schiller avoids the takedown attempt easily. Schiller throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Weston rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Schiller counters with an inside leg kick. Weston will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Schiller gets in close and tags Weston with a short punch that almost sends Weston to the mat! Oh Weston is in big trouble! He turns his back on Schiller, trying to create some distance but Schiller rushes him, striking wildly and Weston goes down! The referee tackles Schiller into the cage to end the fight! Schiller is one violent man!
