Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauro Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Philippe Ouellette (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Philippe Ouellette has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mauro Nash! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Philippe Ouellette! The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ouellette throws a right hand that Nash ducks under and follows up with a left that Nash also avoids with ease. Nash looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. Ouellette gets in close and instigates a clinch. Ouellette has had enough of the clinch but Nash keeps him there for the moment. Ouellette wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ouellette keeps control of Nash as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Nash is trying to force a seperation but Ouellette has the dominant position. Ouellette lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Nash backwards. Nash gets through Ouellette's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Ouellette wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Nash's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Nash pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Ouellette gets a clinch. Ouellette is looking to break free of the clinch but Nash has double underhooks. Ouellette tries a knee to the head but Nash blocks it.
Nash really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nash breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ouellette closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Mauro Nash has been cut. Ouellette clinches with his opponent.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Ouellette creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. Nash pulls guard effortlessly. Nash pulls Ouellette in close to his closed guard and prevents Ouellette from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ouellette wants to control from the top but Nash keeps moving. Ouellette trying to move into half guard but instead Nash has managed to sweep! Ouellette wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Nash manages to pass to side control. Ouellette wants to stand back up but Nash manages to pass into side control.
Ouellette tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Nash easily slips into full mount! Ouellette wants to hold on but Nash pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ouellette really wants to buck Nash off and get back to his feet. Ouellette is in a horrible position here. Nash smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Ouellette is trying desperately to improve position. Nash working the ground and pound effectively.
Nash punishing his opponent with strikes. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ouellette wants to try and get back to his feet. Nash will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nash lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ouellette really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Nash with the ground and pound from mount. Nash with good strikes from the mount here! Ouellette tries to lock up and control but Nash gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Ouellette looks winded! Nash landing strikes from the mount. Nash lands a big shot there that rocks Ouellette but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Ouellette keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Ouellette wants to get back to his feet.
Nash working the ground and pound effectively.
Ouellette really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nash. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nash working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Nash has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nash lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Nash with the ground and pound from mount. The referee warns Ouellette that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Ouellette tries to get back to half guard but can't. Nash is working for a guillotine from mount but Ouellette frees his head quite easily.
Ouellette is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Nash locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Ouellette is forced to tap!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mauro Nash!
