The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Van Beethoven takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Sanford motions for Van Beethoven to come forward. Sanford throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Van Beethoven lands a body shot.
Van Beethoven on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Sanford. Sanford obviously looking to wear him down.
Sanford tries to clinch but Van Beethoven moves out of range. Van Beethoven takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Wolfgang Van Beethoven has been cut. Sanford misses with a low kick.

Van Beethoven throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Sanford misses with a body kick. Van Beethoven takes a jab right on the nose. Van Beethoven throws a low kick but Sanford avoids it. Sanford let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Van Beethoven moves out of range of the leg kick from Sanford. Sanford lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Sloppy strikes from Sanford. Those never looked like landing.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sanford looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Van Beethoven fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Van Beethoven fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Sanford on the side of the head. Sanford throws a leg kick but Van Beethoven moved away. Sanford lands with a thumping leg kick.

Van Beethoven scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Sanford doesn't seem bothered though. Sanford throws a head kick that misses. Van Beethoven throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. No joy there for Van Beethoven , who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Van Beethoven is lucky that one didn't land flush. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sanford takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

and Sanford counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Wolfgang Van Beethoven will probably get the nod. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off. Sanford wants to slow Van Beethoven down by chopping away at his legs. The cut above Fred Sanford's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Van Beethoven lands with a kick to the ribs.
Sanford is still on wobbly legs! Can Van Beethoven finish him? Sanford is breathing heavily. Van Beethoven cracks the inside of Sanford's front leg. Sanford seems to have recovered his senses. Van Beethoven pounces like a tiger and cracks Sanford with a vicious hook! Sanford is down but not out! Van Beethoven follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
