Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Ostrowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Ripley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ripley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Talented Mr. Ripley - Tu Vuo' Fa l'Americano kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

19 - 33 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mr Ripley! The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ripley is looking to clinch. Ripley fails to land with a series of punches.

and Ostrowski counters with a nice body shot. The fight stays on the outside here - Ripley looks like he's thinking about clinching though. As Ripley tries to get set, Ostrowski tries to push him back and clinch up but Ripley manages to avoid the attempt. Mr Ripley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ostrowski is looking to land body kicks. Ripley misses with a wild combination.
Nice straight punches there by Ostrowski. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Ostrowski. Ostrowski bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. It looks like Ostrowski has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Ripley moves in looking to clinch but Ostrowski pushes him off. Ripley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The crowd cheers as Ostrowski lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ripley doesn't seem phased though. Ostrowski fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Ripley to the ground. Ostrowski is now in Ripley's guard. Ostrowski working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ripley's head. Ostrowski is in close to Ripley's body, working some short punches and elbows. Ostrowski looking to sit in guard and control but Ripley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Ostrowski pulls Ripley in close to prevent any damage. Ripley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ostrowski moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mr Ripley is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Ostrowski lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Ostrowski shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ripley sprawls well. Ripley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ostrowski gets slowly back to his feet. Ripley will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Ostrowski looking to sit in guard and control but Ripley gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Frankie Ostrowski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Ripley wants to stand but Ostrowski has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Ostrowski managing to control the position. Ostrowski trying to keep a closed guard but Ripley is proving a slippery customer.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Ostrowski slips under a jab from Ripley. Ostrowski drops down looking for a counter takedown but Ripley sprawls and moves away. Ostrowski uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ripley. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Ostrowski here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Ostrowski uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Ripley drops Ostrowski with a beautiful combination! Ostrowski stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Ripley is looking for the KO!

Frankie Ostrowski is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Ostrowski trying to control the action but Ripley is working from the bottom.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Frankie Ostrowski. Well Ostrowski has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
