Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bob Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Funk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Evans! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Robert Funk! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Frank Dennis and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Funk misses with a takedown attempt - Evans sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Evans throws a right hand that Funk ducks under and follows up with a left that Funk also avoids with ease. No luck for Funk with that takedown attempt. Evans tries for a takedown but Funk circles away easily and Funk counters with a nice double leg into guard. Funk looking to control the position here, rather than advance. I looks like Funk might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans wants to stand and escape but Funk is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Evans looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Funk not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Evans throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Funk avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Funk throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Evans's head. Evans throws a left and a right that both miss
and Funk counters with a nice body kick. Evans with a lazy takedown attempt and Funk counters with a takedown into side control. Evans is breathing heavily. Evans tries to buck Funk off but Funk is having none of it. Funk is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Funk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Evans on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Evans tries to get out of the position. Evans tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Funk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Funk in side control, just content to control the action for now. Funk wants to control but Evans is keeping him busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Evans is trying to get back to his feet. The referee asks Funk politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Funk prefers to stall for the moment though. Funk wants to lay and pray for a moment but Evans keeps working.
Despite being in the dominant position, Robert Funk just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Funk shoots in looking for a takedown. Evans tries to sprawl out of it but Funk keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Evans manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Bob Evans has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Robert Funk. A low kick from Evans misses and Funk counters with a nice double leg into guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Evans lands a nice short elbow. Evans seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. A swing and a miss from Evans. Evans looks for a takedown but Funk sprawls well. Funk closes the distance and clinches up with Evans, looking for a takedown. That's three minutes gone in the round. Evans landing rabbit punches to the side of Funk's head. Not doing much damage but still scoring a few points. Evans misses with some strikes from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Evans missing with punches from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Evans is looking to control Funk's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Evans avoid being mounted? Evans tries to get to full guard but Funk has control of the leg.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Evans misses with the combination.
Funk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Evans's guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Bob Evans will probably get the nod. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Funk stays in close to Evans's body and controls the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Evans will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Funk wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving. Evans tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Evans has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Funk can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Evans on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Funk gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Evans counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work. No joy there for Evans, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

That's three minutes gone in the round. No luck for Funk with that takedown attempt. Evans closes the distance and lands a one-two. Funk will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Evans tries to bum rush Funk with a series of wild strikes but Funk uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Funk misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Funk with a lazy takedown attempt and Evans counters with a shoot takedown. Funk fights it but they end up in guard. Evans thows a big elbow that misses. Evans is working Funk over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Evans throws and elbow that misses. Funk uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Evans's guard. Nice move by Funk! Evans throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Funk won't allow Evans to sweep him here. Evans working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Funk doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Funk manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Evans striking off his back but it's not causing Funk any problems. Evans is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. A slapping leg kick lands for Funk.
And that's the end of the fight! Bob Evans showed his dominance in that final round. I think Evans has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
