PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Marc Lewis Dillinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pozar Pozar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pozar has chosen z Buta Wjeżdzam as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Lewis Dillinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 18 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pozar Pozar!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pozar doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Dillinger counters with a head kick.
Dillinger is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Pozar rushes Dillinger and presses him up against the cage.
Dillinger tries to pull guard but Pozar won't allow it.

Pozar turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pozar manages to end up in side control.
Dillinger is trying to control Pozar's posture but Pozar avoids it.

Dillinger sneaks out the side door and pushes Pozar away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Pozar shoots in but Dillinger avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Dillinger is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Nice takedown defense from Dillinger. No joy for Pozar on that attempt.

A quick step to the side and Dillinger tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Pozar tightens his grip and picks Dillinger up, before dumping him to the ground. Dillinger manages to land in guard.

Pozar has gone for a leg lock! Dillinger slips out almost immediately though and dives into Pozar's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Pozar has his foot on Dillinger's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dillinger works his way back into a safe position though.

We've been hearing good reports from Dillinger's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Dillinger has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Pozar is proving hard to escape from.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That was a close round but I would say that Marc Lewis Dillinger will probably get the nod.

Pozar has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dillinger is working away from the top position though.

Pozar tries to clinch there but Dillinger circles away.

Dillinger moves into range and clinches up with Pozar.
Pozar struggles to land a body shot inside as Dillinger controls his hands.

Pozar's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dillinger slaps away a takedown attempt from Pozar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dillinger misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Dillinger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Dillinger is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Pozar can do to turn this around?
Pozar shoots for a takedown but Dillinger saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Pozar changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dillinger tries to avoid it but Pozar manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dillinger to the ground. Dillinger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Pozar shoots in for a double leg but Dillinger sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Dillinger is pressed up against the cage. Pozar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Dillinger down to the mat. Dillinger avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pozar misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pozar Pozar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Dillinger.

Dillinger seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pozar does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
