Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roman Reigns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Macfarlane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Reigns comes to the cage accompanied by Sail by AWOLNATION . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stephen Macfarlane! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Macfarlane moves in looking to clinch but Reigns pushes him off. Reigns lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Macfarlane circles away quickly and effectively. Macfarlane moves into the clinch. Reigns jumps guard and drags Macfarlane to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Reigns being controlled here, momentarily. Macfarlane is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Reigns is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Reigns has escaped and now he's on top! Macfarlane wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Reigns is now in half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reigns is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Macfarlane doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Reigns.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Macfarlane can do anything to dispel that myth. Macfarlane wants to control the action here but instead Reigns manages to pass to full mount! Reigns working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Macfarlane is looking to improve his position but Reigns isn't that keen on the idea. Reigns looking to finish Macfarlane with some ground and pound. This is bad for Macfarlane! Reigns tries to control but Macfarlane wriggling away. Macfarlane working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Macfarlane wants to get back to his feet. Reigns working for the choke. Macfarlane preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Reigns. A lull in the action here.

Reigns connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Macfarlane to escape the position.
Macfarlane really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Reigns. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Macfarlane tries to escape but Reigns has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Macfarlane trying to control the hands but Reigns breaks the grip. I really don't envy Macfarlane right now.

Reigns is not going to allow Macfarlane to sit and survive in this position. Macfarlane wants to get back to his feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Reigns has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Macfarlane has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Reigns is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Macfarlane can do to turn this around? The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Reigns looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Reigns! Reigns wants to lay and pray for a moment but Macfarlane keeps working. Macfarlane pushes Reigns away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Reigns gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Macfarlane looks to move to half guard but instead Reigns has passed into mount! Damn! Reigns avoids the attempt from Macfarlane to control. Roman Reigns overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Macfarlane working to try and regain half guard.
Macfarlane reaches up to try and control the position but Reigns seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Macfarlane rolls and tries to escape and now Reigns has his back!

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Reigns keeping full guard, as Macfarlane tries to pass. Reigns will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Macfarlane controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Macfarlane would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reigns shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Macfarlane as he avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roman Reigns. That's going to take a lot out of him. Macfarlane shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Reigns defends it nicely. No luck for Macfarlane with that takedown attempt. A shot to the liver by Macfarlane. Beautiful body shot. Reigns showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Macfarlane.

Macfarlane keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Reigns displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Macfarlane. It looked like Reigns was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. A head kick misses from Macfarlane. A combination from Macfarlane does no damage. Macfarlane tries a head kick but it misses.

And that's the end of the fight! Stephen Macfarlane comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Reigns has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
