Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Portisch tries to avoid it but Bishop manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Portisch to the ground. Portisch escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nice sprawl there from Portisch as Bishop shoots in.

Bishop throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Portisch's waist but Portisch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bishop off to one side.

Horrible takedown by Bishop or perhaps it was just good defense by Portisch which made him look bad.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Portisch wants to clinch up but Bishop keeps it at a distance.

and Portisch counters with a series of strikes. Bishop will be more careful next time no doubt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bishop has control of Portisch's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Portisch regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Bishop is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Portisch is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bishop connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Portisch some visible discomfort.
Portisch pushes Bishop away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Bishop gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
No joy there for Portisch, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
