Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nelson Muntz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thomas Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Watson has chosen 50 Cent - The Funeral as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thomas Watson!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson tries a head kick but it misses.
Muntz lands with a good body shot.
Muntz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Muntz connects with a body shot that sends Watson's belly button to the back.
Watson throws a hook to the side of Muntz's head but Muntz sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Watson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Muntz's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Watson connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Muntz scrambles back to his feet.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A solid leg kick lands there for Muntz.
Watson goes for a double leg but Muntz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Muntz continues to drive forward.
Watson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Muntz defends well and Watson ends up having to push Muntz into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Muntz has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
