PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gottlieb Hiebknecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calvin Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Brooks's choice of entrance music: 2nd Sucks - A Day To Remember. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Calvin Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Brooks looks to score with a jab to the body but Hiebknecht is just out of range.
Hiebknecht shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brooks eats them both and turns towards Hiebknecht to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Brooks shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Hiebknecht drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hiebknecht jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Gottlieb Hiebknecht will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

It looks like Calvin Brooks has been cut.
Brooks drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

After winning the bout, Gottlieb Hiebknecht thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
