5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ian Rogers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Chuck Silva! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rogers lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Silva has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Rogers gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Silva lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Silva sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rogers's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva prevents Rogers from improving his position. Rogers moves into full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rogers works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Silva slips nicely into half guard. Silva is working for a submission of some sort.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Silva is looking to advance position but Rogers won't allow it. Rogers regains full guard. Nicely done. Silva missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rogers has his foot on Silva's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Silva works his way back into a safe position though. Rogers is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Silva working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Rogers working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silva doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silva manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Silva wants to stand but Rogers has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rogers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Rogers looking to hit a scissor sweep but Silva is one step ahead there. Silva wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving. Silva slips nicely into half guard. Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
Silva is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Rogers sees it coming and defends easily. Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rogers is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Silva tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rogers knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Rogers is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Rogers slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Silva drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Rogers dives on top into guard. Silva trying to keep a closed guard but Rogers is proving a slippery customer.

A close round but Chuck Silva will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Silva decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Silva is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Rogers wants to control the action here but instead Silva manages to pass to full mount! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rogers is wriggling around trying to escape.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silva wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving. Rogers tries to land a sweep but no joy. Silva seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Rogers lands some strikes from the bottom. Silva throws a big right hand that misses. Silva trying to control but Rogers is working from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rogers is controlling Silva's posture. Silva avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Silva postures up in Rogers's guard and throws a big left but Rogers blocks it. Rogers is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Silva is aware though and is defending well. Rogers keeping full guard, as Silva tries to pass. Rogers looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Silva would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva is looking to work some ground and pound but Rogers has wrist control. Rogers has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Silva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Silva wants to control from the top but Rogers keeps moving. Rogers tries to bench press Silva off him but Silva keeps the position. Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Rogers is defending well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rogers gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuck Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Rogers moves into range and clinches up with Silva. Silva works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Rogers wants to sweep here but Silva controlling him for the moment. Silva trying to stand up but can't free himself from Rogers's guard. Silva looking to sit in guard and control but Rogers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Silva is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Rogers is aware though and is defending well. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Silva is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Rogers frees his head nicely. Oh but Silva has switched to an armbar! Rogers is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
