Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trent Cotchin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Kim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Trent Cotchin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
24 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mikey Kim! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Good shot there by Cotchin. Cotchin throws an overhand right that lands on Kim's shoulder, as Kim tries to avoid the shot. Kim steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Cotchin has been working on his boxing with his coaches at F U in the buildup to the fight. Kim tries to move into range but Cotchin moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Cotchin throws out a leg kick but Kim moves out of range and Cotchin only half commits. Kim flicks out a counter leg kick but Cotchin steps away. Kim throws a head kick but Cotchin moves out of range.
Cotchin throws a leg kick and Kim counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Cotchin misses with a lunging right hand
and Kim counters with an outside leg kick.
Kim blocks a jab. Kim throws a shot from downtown. Cotchin moves away and avoids it. Kim lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Trent Cotchin has been cut. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Cotchin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kim - the referee stops the clock and Cotchin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kim. Cotchin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. We've been informed that Kim has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Kim displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cotchin. Jab by Cotchin.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cotchin throws a right and a left that Kim avoids nicely. Cotchin looks to throw a body kick and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Kim is looking to score with low kicks. Kim feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Cotchins jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Trent Cotchin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Cotchin throws a sloppy head kick and Kim makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Kim scores with a sloppy right hand. Cotchin should have avoided that one. Cotchin shoots in but no luck this time. Cotchin scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Cotchin looking to control but instead Kim has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Cotchin thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kim's head. Kim keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Kim looks like he's trying to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kim is looking for a sweep. Cotchin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Cotchin not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Cotchin trying to mount his opponent but Kim defends it. Cotchin passes the guard and advances to mount! Kim wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Cotchin.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Cotchin in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Kim is rocked! Cotchin unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Kim wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Cotchin celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trent Cotchin! Our winner, Trent Cotchin, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
