Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Noam Chomsky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Keiji Numa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chomsky kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is System Of A Down BYOB. Numa comes into a darkened arena with his song building. You're Going Down kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Noam Chomsky has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Noam Chomsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 33 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Keiji Numa!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Darius Henderson and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chomsky misses with a low kick as Numa jumps back.
Nice jab there from Chomsky.
Numa darts in looking for a takedown but Chomsky gets double underhooks and turns Numa into the cage.
Numa swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Chomsky looks to land a left hand but Numa moved out of range nicely.
Chomsky definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Chomsky is looking to score with low kicks.
Numa feints the counter takedown.
Numa shoots in but no luck this time.
Numa has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Chomsky.

Numa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Chomsky manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Chomsky looking for a sweep. Not yet Chomsky, not yet.
Chomsky not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Numa trying to control the position from guard on top but Chomsky is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Numa looking to sit in guard and control but Chomsky gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Chomsky is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Numa looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chomsky trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Numa had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chomsky defends it easily.
Chomsky is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Numa escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chomsky gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chomsky passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Chomsky cracks Numa with a big right hand but Numa just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Chomsky works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Chomsky takes a little break here. Numa wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Chomsky lands an elbow.
Numa is trying to control Chomsky's posture but Chomsky avoids it.
Chomsky controls the position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Numa is looking to reverse the position.
Chomsky controls the position.
Numa can't do much from the bottom here.
Numa gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Numa wants to get back to his feet.

Chomsky performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Chomsky has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Chomsky swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Numa is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Chomsky lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A nice inside leg kick there by Numa. That's going to slow Chomsky down.

Numa uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Chomsky.

Numa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Chomsky sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Numa somewhat.
Chomsky throws a jab but it's blocked by Numa.
Numa fails with the takedown.
Chomsky tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Numa manages to circle out of the way.
Chomsky thuds a left hand into Numa's body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chomsky connects with a looping right hand.
Some bone on bone action there as Chomsky checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Chomsky misses with a straight left.
As Chomsky backs off Numa throws a huge counter combo but Chomsky manages to avoid it all.
Chomsky thuds his shin into the meat of Numa's side.
Numa is breathing heavily.

Chomsky throws a body shot but no joy.
Numa shoots in looking for a takedown but Chomsky manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Numa's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
As Numa tries to get set, Chomsky tries to push him back and clinch up but Numa manages to avoid the attempt.
Noam Chomsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keiji Numa.
Chomsky lands a nice shot that snaps Numa's head back.
Chomsky attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Numa turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Chomsky misses with an uppercut. Numa saw that one coming.

Chomsky gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Numa to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Chomsky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Numa can do to turn this around?

Chomsky is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Chomsky takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Numa tries to roll over but Chomsky keeps him under control.
Still in half guard, Chomsky seems content to control.
Numa is concentrating on defense, preventing Chomsky from advancing position.
Chomsky keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Chomsky continues to stall.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Chomsky moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Numa.
Numa is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Numa on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Chomsky content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Numa trying to control but Chomsky flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
Chomsky keeps control of the position easily here as Numa tries to buck him off.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
You can see the frustration on Numa's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Crunch! Chomsky slams his shin into Numa's torso.
A nice leg kick lands there from Chomsky.
Chomsky ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Numa moves away.
Numa flicks out a counter leg kick but Chomsky steps away.
Chomsky lands with a shot to the body.
Chomsky is looking to score with low kicks.
Numa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chomsky can pounce on him.
Chomsky walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Numa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Chomsky lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Numa has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Numa and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice defenses there by Numa.
Chomsky throws a hook but Numa blocks it.
Numa takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Chomsky tries to land a front kick but Numa steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Keiji Numa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Chomsky turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Chomsky looks to throw the jab but Numa is out of range.
Numa takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Numa takes one on the button.
Chomsky misses with a kick to the body.
Noam Chomsky seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A solid leg kick lands there for Chomsky.
Chomsky misses with a low kick.

Chomsky moves into the clinch.
Numa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Chomsky just stands there and leans against the cage.
Numa tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Chomsky smiles and moves away.
Numa wants to land a leg kick but Chomsky is out of range.
As Numa tries to get set, Chomsky tries to push him back and clinch up but Numa manages to avoid the attempt.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Chomsky content to slow the pace in the clinch.
A short right from Chomsky on the inside.
Numa tries to pull guard but Chomsky won't allow it.
Noam Chomsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keiji Numa.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chomsky lands with a short punch from the clinch.


Numa is rocked!
Chomsky lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Numa to his knees! Chomsky keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Noam Chomsky!
Noam Chomsky decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
