Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lexi Belle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danjie Mercado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mercado has chosen Pagsubok as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lexi Belle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
15 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Danjie Mercado!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belle rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Mercado holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Belle jumps into guard, dragging Mercado to the mat.
Belle working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mercado doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mercado manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Belle striking off his back but it's not causing Mercado any problems.
Belle is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mercado is aware though and is defending well.
Mercado stands up over Belle, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mercado working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Belle is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Mercado pulls his head out easily.

Mercado doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Belle shoots in but no luck this time.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mercado looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Belle is fending him off so far but Mercado persists. Nope, Belle circles away and we're back to standing.
Belle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mercado has his foot on Belle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Belle works his way back into a safe position though.

Mercado bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Belle's guard.
Belle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Mercado takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Belle has momentary wrist control but Mercado slips an elbow through the middle.

Danjie Mercado dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Mercado counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Belle takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Belle fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mercado to the ground. Belle is now in Mercado's guard.

Oooooh, big shot lands for Mercado! Belle is hurt baaadly! Mercado is firing away with more strikes - Belle is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!

Danjie Mercado really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that FinnFighter Nutrition (Five 160Q supps!) logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
