Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lamont Murphy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Lamont Murphy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Adam Jones!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Murphy gets a clinch.
Jones blocks a body shot from Murphy.
Jones stalls.
Murphy wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Jones pulls guard effortlessly.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Jones has control of Murphy's left arm, preventing Murphy from doing any damage.

Murphy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jones is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Murphy, into his guard.

Jones must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jones trying to control but Murphy is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Murphy looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones passes Murphy's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Jones sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Jones wants to take a breather but Murphy is having none of it.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Murphy's temple.

Murphy tries to roll over but Jones keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jones looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Murphy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Murphy really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Jones stops Murphy from getting back to his feet.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Murphy keeps working.
Murphy wants to get back to full guard.
Jones wants to take a breather but Murphy is having none of it.
Murphy tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Jones is keen to just control but Murphy is a slippery customer.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Jones in particular looking to stall.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jones swats away the attempt to clinch by Murphy.
Jones steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Murphy.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Murphy tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jones paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jones manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Murphy on his heels. He'll look to pass Murphy's guard now, I'm sure.

Murphy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Murphy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Murphy had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jones defends it easily.
Jones tries to stand but Murphy is controlling from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Murphy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jones stands and throws Murphy's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Jones looks up at the clock and then as Murphy takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Jones tries to move to mount but Murphy blocks the move with his legs.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Murphy's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Jones dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jones drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.


Murphy is rocked!
Jones chips away with some ground and pound.
Oh Murphy is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Murphy is trying to control the position but Jones postures up.
Jones loads up on a big left hand. Murphy felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Jones looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Murphy can't hide his disappointment, as Jones celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Adam Jones!
