Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between JJ May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). May comes to the ring accompanied by Suffa by Hed Pe. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, JJ May! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raul Mendez! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Matti Vanhoillinen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mendez fails to land the takedown. Mendez shoots in for a takedown but May shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. May shoots in but Mendez avoids the takedown attempt easily. No luck with that takedown attempt from May. Mendez is looking for the big counter here. No luck for Mendez with that takedown attempt. JJ May has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raul Mendez. Mendez swats away the attempt to clinch by May. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. May throws a head kick but Mendez moves out of range.
May looks to land a combination. Mendez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. May uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mendez. May appears to be looking for a counter takedown. May tries for a takedown but Mendez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. May misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mendez looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? May is fending him off so far but Mendez persists. Nope, May circles away and we're back to standing. Mendez closes this distance looking for a takedown but May circles away. May closes the distance and clinches. Mendez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as May walks away with a smile on his face. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Mendez tries for a takedown but May sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Mendez takes a head kick and keeps coming.
It looks like Raul Mendez has been cut. May throws a head kick that misses letting Mendez counter with a right hand. A combination from May does no damage. May tries to sprawl but Mendez drives through with a takedown into half guard. Mendez looks winded! This has been an exciting period of action! May has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Mendez is on him like a limpet, forcing May back against the ropes. A short left from May. May jumps into guard, dragging Mendez to the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. May utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. May working for a triangle but Mendez defends it easily.
Mendez trying to control but May is working from the bottom. Mendez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mendez passes into half guard. Mendez is just content to waste time from the top position. May takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mendez throws a big elbow that misses. Mendez trying to control the position from guard on top but May is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendez drops back, looking for a kneebar! May looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. May looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from May! Mendez can't do much from the bottom here. Mendez sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. May thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mendez is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. May knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mendez on the ground. Mendez wants to get back to full guard but May has mounted him! Mendez slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Mendez is defending against the submission attempts here by May.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mendez manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Mendez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. May defends it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
JJ May dominated that round. The cut man is working on Raul Mendez's cut. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
May throws a head kick that half lands.
May gets in close and instigates a clinch. May escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Mendez dives in and scores a takedown into May's guard. May is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mendez can do to turn this around? May keeping full guard, as Mendez tries to pass. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Mendez trying to control the position from guard on top but May is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mendez wants to pass the guard but May is keeping the position. Mendez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! May is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mendez, into his guard. May wants to pass the guard but Mendez is keeping the position. May wants to stand but Mendez is controlling his posture from full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. May working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Mendez throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
May trying to control the position from guard on top but Mendez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mendez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think May should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Mendez has tightened it up now! May should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
