PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zin Foe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jerry Herrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zin Foe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jerry Herrera!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Foe throws a head kick that misses.
Herrera slaps away a takedown attempt from Foe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Foe shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Herrera as he avoids it easily.

Herrera gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Foe to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Foe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Herrera will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Foe drops back looking for a leg! Herrera is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Herrera manages to kick Foe off! Foe jumps back into Herrera's guard.

Foe throwing strikes but missing.
Foe trying to control the position from guard on top but Herrera is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Foe pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Herrera is keeping the position for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Herrera escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Foe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Herrera is adopting a defensive guard.

Herrera looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Foe looking to sit in guard and control but Herrera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Herrera content to stall in guard here.

Foe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Foe seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
Foe seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Herrera in particular looking to stall.
Herrera wants to lay and pray for a moment but Foe keeps working.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Herrera wants to stand but Foe has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Let's hope that Herrera has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Foe looking for submissions off his back.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Herrera is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Foe doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Herrera.

Herrera wants to pass to mount but Foe is defending the position.

Herrera wants to control but Foe is keeping him busy.

Foe sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Foe wants to improve his position but Herrera is controlling well.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Herrera had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Foe defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Foe tries to free his leg and advance position but Herrera is retaining full guard.

Herrera has his hands on Foe's head, controlling the position.
Herrera not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Foe throwing strikes from guard but Herrera blocks nicely.

Foe is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Foe tries to free his leg and advance position but Herrera is retaining full guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Foe closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Herrera did well to prevent Foe getting side control.
Herrera won't allow Foe to pass to mount.

Foe is working for a kimura but Herrera is defending it quite comfortably.

Foe is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Herrera is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Herrera has escaped and now he's on top!

Foe striking off his back but it's not causing Herrera any problems.
Herrera stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Foe swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Herrera decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Herrera is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Foe's half guard.

Foe has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Herrera. Oh but Foe has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Herrera goes limp - he's gone! Foe jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Zin Foe!
Zin Foe decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
