Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kaspars Timma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kip Aragus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Timma comes to the cage accompanied by Z FARTEM. Aragus is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Kill of the Night - Gin Wigmore. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kaspars Timma!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kip Aragus!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Joseph Jones and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Timma throws a hook but Aragus avoids it easily.

Aragus has closed the distance and engaged Timma in a clinch.

Timma will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fight stays on the outside here - Aragus looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Aragus closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Timma to the mat! Timma manages to get full guard.
Aragus wants to control from the top but Timma keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aragus is looking to work some ground and pound but Timma has wrist control.
Aragus looking to sit in guard and control but Timma gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Aragus is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Timma has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Aragus lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Aragus is trying to control the action in half guard but Timma is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Aragus is working for an americana but Timma has been sneaky and has managed to get back to half guard, whilst Aragus was thinking about the submission.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Aragus is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Timma defends it well.
Timma is staying active underneath Aragus, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Aragus is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Aragus tries to pass to full mount but Timma defends it.
Aragus has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Aragus is working for a kimura but Timma is defending it quite comfortably.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Timma pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Timma lands a jab to the nose.
Timma tries a head kick but it misses.
Aragus swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Kaspars Timma seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aragus.
Timma throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Timma connects with a single shot there.
Kaspars Timma is winning the standup battle so far.
Aragus avoids the body shot from Timma.
Kaspars Timma is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Timma misses with an uppercut.
A big left from Timma misses.
Timma lands with a slapping head kick.
Timma lands a head kick. Aragus smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Timma throws a right and a left that Aragus avoids nicely.
Aragus is still on wobbly legs! Can Timma finish him?

Aragus moves into range and clinches up with Timma.
Aragus seems to have recovered his senses.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aragus scores with a nice hook to the head.
Timma gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Aragus.
Timma has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kaspars Timma will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Timma stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Aragus shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Timma's guard.
Aragus wants to pass the guard but Timma is keeping the position.

Aragus drops back, looking for a kneebar! Timma looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Timma looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Timma!

Aragus tries to buck Timma off but Timma is having none of it.

Timma stands up.

Aragus misses with a takedown attempt - Timma sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Timma misses the shot to the body.
Aragus moves in looking to clinch but Timma pushes him off.
Timma lands a jab to Aragus's midsection.

Timma lands a big head kick that sends Aragus tumbling to the mat! Timma takes a step backwards and waves Aragus back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Kip Aragus has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Aragus is trying to drag Timma to the mat but Timma just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Timma throws a hook but Aragus blocks it.
Timma lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Aragus tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Timma paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Timma swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.

Aragus moves into the clinch.
Timma can't break the clinch.
Aragus looking for a takedown.
Kaspars Timma has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kip Aragus.
Timma tries to circle away but Aragus has him pinned against the cage.
Aragus drops down looking for an ankle pick but Timma pulls his leg out and moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kaspars Timma showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Timma has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
