Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Lorenzo Von Matterhorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Gibson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Von Matterhorn might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Sharp Dressed Man. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Von Matterhorn keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Gibson throws a right hand that misses
and Von Matterhorn counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gibson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Von Matterhorn manages to avoid it.
Gibson looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Von Matterhorn throws a leg kick which misses Gibson's front leg but catches the back leg as Gibson tries to avoid it.

Von Matterhorn walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Gibson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Von Matterhorn throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Gibson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Gibson rushes Von Matterhorn and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Gibson creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Gibson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Von Matterhorn was well out of range. Poor timing from Gibson.

and Von Matterhorn connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Von Matterhorn moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Gibson looks to clinch
and Von Matterhorn cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A shot to the body from Gibson misses
and whilst Gibson still has his hands down, Von Matterhorn counters with a perfectly aimed head kick that sends Gibson crashing to the mat! Will he recover? 3,4,5,6,7 - he's back up! The referee looks into his eyes and asks him to walk forwards. He's going to allow this one to continue but will Gibson be able to survive another onslaught?
Gibson is rocked!
Gibson wants to clinch
and Von Matterhorn makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gibson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Von Matterhorn avoids a punch combination nicely.
Von Matterhorn explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Gibson looks winded!

Gibson on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Von Matterhorn and Gibson are patiently standing in front of each other looking for an opening. Von Matterhorn throws a head kick. It's landed, knocking Gibson into next week! Ooooh that was huge! Von Matterhorn knows it - he's on the ropes flexing is biceps. That's a bit weird considering he won by kick but whatever.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Lorenzo Von Matterhorn!
