The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iowa throws a jab but it's blocked by Thompson.
Iowa fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Thompson sprawls well initially but Iowa persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Iowa is nestled in close to Thompson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Iowa is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Thompson is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
