Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Manu Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Gouveia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez dodges the punch combination from Gouveia.
Rodriguez avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Gouveia. No joy for Rodriguez on that attempt.
Gouveia doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gouveia as he avoids it easily.

Gouveia darts in and clinches Rodriguez up against the cage.
Rodriguez can't get the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Manu Rodriguez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gouveia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gouveia pulls guard successfully.
Rodriguez is looking to work some ground and pound but Gouveia has wrist control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rodriguez tries to free his leg and advance position but Gouveia is retaining full guard.

Rodriguez postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gouveia is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rodriguez, into his guard.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rodriguez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Rodriguez looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Rodriguez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Gouveia has picked Rodriguez up and slammed him! Rodriguez can't keep hold of the triangle and Gouveia manages to pass to side control!
Gouveia prevents Rodriguez from escaping the position.
Gouveia wants to stand but Rodriguez has his arm trapped.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Rodriguez throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
Rodriguez is looking for a sweep.
Rodriguez bucks up and tries to throw Gouveia off but instead Gouveia has got his back!
Rodriguez tries to escape the position.

Gouveia stands up.

Gouveia connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Rodriguez's hands.

Gouveia clinches up against the cage.
Gouveia landing knees to the body.

Gouveia breaks from the clinch.

Rodriguez gets tackled into the cage by Gouveia. Gouveia maintains the clinch.

Gouveia breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rodriguez takes one on the button.

Rodriguez is rocked!
Rodriguez avoids the head kick by Gouveia.
Oh Rodriguez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Gouveia closes the distance and clinches.
Gouveia gets through Rodriguez's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Gouveia works on Rodriguez's body with a couple of short punches.
Rodriguez looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Rodriguez is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A short body shot lands from Gouveia as the two fighters clinch.

Gouveia breaks the clinch.
Gouveia batters Rodriguez with a massive right followed by a huge left! Rodriguez is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Gouveia lands a final crushing right hand to drop Rodriguez to the mat with a gruesome thud! Gouveia is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
