Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martez Cortega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tyson Kahn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
11 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Martez Cortega!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tyson Kahn!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cortega moves out of range of the strikes.
Martez Cortega seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kahn throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cortega.
Kahn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cortega manages to avoid it.
Cortega tries a head kick but it misses.
Kahn cracks Cortega with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Kahn ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Kahn lands a body shot.
Jab, jab by Kahn - just one landing.
Cortega takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Kahn has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kahn swings for the body but Cortega moves out of range.
Cortega closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kahn tries to score with a low kick but Cortega moves his leg out of the way.

Cortega is rocked!
Cortega walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Cortega limp body while Kahn jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Tyson Kahn!
Tyson Kahn was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
