Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonah Solis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Th Lion! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Gwen Towbar and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lion feints and as Solis raises his hands in defense, Lion changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Lion won't allow Solis to get back to his feet. Lion must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Lion stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Solis swivels though and keeps the full guard. Lion is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Solis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Solis wants to stand up but Lion is controlling him. Solis is trying to control the position but Lion postures up. Solis is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lion tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. Lion trying to hold on to Solis's head to control him but Solis postures up.
Solis is nestled in close to Lion, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
That's one minute gone in the round. Solis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lion does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Lion is looking to control Solis's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lion avoid being mounted? Solis prevents Lion from improving his position. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Lion gets a clinch. Lion lands on the inside with an uppercut. Lion gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Solis gets full guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Lion tries to free his leg and advance position but Solis is retaining full guard. Solis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Solis is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Solis tries to land a sweep but no joy. Solis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lion manages to get himself to full guard.

Th Lion dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Lion closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Solis's guard. Lion content to stall in guard here. Solis keeping full guard, as Lion tries to pass. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lion prevents Solis from getting back to his feet. Th Lion has got the better of the ground game so far. Lion keeping moving, preventing Solis from controlling successfully. Lion isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Solis stacks Lion on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Solis! Solis scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Lion to see if he's OK.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. What's Lion going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Lion looking for a sweep but Solis has passed into full mount! Oh no! Solis manages to capitalize on a mistake by Lion to take his back! Lion defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Lion really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Solis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Lion trying to control the hands but Solis breaks the grip.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lion is trying to stand back up. Solis trying to control momentarily.
Solis avoiding Lion 's attempts to control his hands. Solis just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Solis looking for the RNC. Lion wants to escape the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Solis looking to break Lion's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Lion remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Solis will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke! Lion wants to get back to his feet. Lion trying to control the action but Solis just sinks the hooks in. Solis is looking for the choke from the back position but Lion is controlling his hands well. Solis lands with a hammerfist to the side of Lion's head. Solis really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Lion. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Lion tries to roll but Solis sticks to his back.

Jonah Solis dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
Solis tries to clinch up. Solis gets tackled into the cage by Lion. Lion maintains the clinch. Lion lands a shot to the body. Solis is fighting off a takedown attempt but Lion is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Solis to the mat. Solis regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Solis is on top in guard.
Lion has control of Solis's left arm, preventing Solis from doing any damage. Lion is continuing to stall. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lion controls Solis momentarily but Solis frees himself.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lion controlling Solis's posture. Solis wants to control from the top but Lion keeps moving. Lion has his hands on Solis's head, controlling the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Lion wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Solis manages to pass to side control. Solis trying to control from half guard but Lion is working away. Lion is trying to maintain the position but Solis is very close to passing his half guard. Lion is staying active underneath Solis, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Lion manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Solis on his heels. He'll look to pass Solis's guard now, I'm sure.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Solis lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Lion has Solis pulled in close to control his posture. Lion keeping moving, preventing Solis from controlling successfully. Lion has an active guard here but Solis has managed to pass into half guard.
Solis is looking to take a break and control but Lion is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Solis content to control rather than advance. Solis thows a huge punch but Lion dodges it nicely.

Solis is trying to control the action in half guard but Lion is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Lion trying to hold on to Solis's head to control him but Solis postures up.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Th Lion. I think Lion has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
