Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Darkly will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Nogueira throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Darkly stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nogueira throws a body shot but no joy.
Nogueira misses with an uppercut
and Darkly counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Darkly tried to score with a low kick but Nogueira checks it.
Scanner Darkly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nogueira moves out of range of the leg kick from Darkly.
Darkly lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nogueira circles away quickly and effectively.
Nogueira thuds his right hand into Darkly's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Darkly closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nogueira to the mat! Nogueira manages to get full guard.

Darkly working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nogueira doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nogueira manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Darkly can't keep his opponent in guard - Nogueira advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Darkly can do anything to dispel that myth.
Darkly is trying to maintain the position but Nogueira is very close to passing his half guard.
Nogueira wants to pass the guard but Darkly is defending well.
Darkly really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Nogueira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Darkly closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Darkly creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Nogueira sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Scanner Darkly has got the better of the ground game so far.
Darkly throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Nogueira works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Darkly throws a sloppy strike and Nogueira has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Darkly is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Nogueira!
