Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Andrews (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nickolay Katorjnov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Katorjnov has chosen Remember the name - Fort Minor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Andrews!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nickolay Katorjnov!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Katorjnov scores with the left hand. Andrews knows he should have avoided that one.


It looks like Alex Andrews has been cut.
Katorjnov throws an overhand right that lands on Andrews's shoulder, as Andrews tries to avoid the shot.

Andrews shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Katorjnov regains half guard.
Andrews tries to pass to full mount but Katorjnov defends it.
Katorjnov is looking to escape.
Katorjnov is looking to improve his position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Andrews connects with a nice short shot to Katorjnov's temple.
Andrews landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Andrews has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Andrews is trying to work for a kimura but Katorjnov is defending well.
Katorjnov taking some punishment here, with Andrews in his half guard.
Katorjnov has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Andrews is working away from the top position though.
Katorjnov moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Katorjnov is looking to stand back up but Andrews counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Katorjnov.
Andrews will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Andrews is trying to control the action in half guard but Katorjnov is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Katorjnov is looking to stand up but Andrews isn't so interested in that idea.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

A nice combination there by Katorjnov.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Katorjnov.
Andrews tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Katorjnov just stands there and leans against the cage.
Andrews using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Katorjnov has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Andrews goes for a takedown attempt but Katorjnov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alex Andrews. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Andrews is breathing heavily.
Katorjnov lands a nice shot that snaps Andrews's head back.
Katorjnov lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Katorjnov smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Andrews tries to clinch up.
Andrews ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Katorjnov moves away.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Katorjnov and Andrews goes tumbling to the canvas! Katorjnov follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.


Andrews is rocked!

Oh Andrews is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Andrews is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Katorjnov's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Katorjnov's back!
Andrews seems to have got his legs back now.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Andrews is hanging on to Katorjnov's back as he tries to escape.
Katorjnov rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Katorjnov tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Andrews throwing shots but Katorjnov is blocking nicely.
Andrews seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Katorjnov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Andrews is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Katorjnov lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Katorjnov looks to land a left hand but Andrews moved out of range nicely.
Andrews shoots in looking for a takedown. Katorjnov tries to sprawl out of it but Andrews keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Katorjnov manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Andrews attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Katorjnov cracks Andrews with an uppercut from hell and Andrews crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Katorjnov's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Andrews striking off his back but it's not causing Katorjnov any problems.

Andrews working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Katorjnov doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Katorjnov manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Andrews keeping moving, preventing Katorjnov from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nickolay Katorjnov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alex Andrews's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Andrews tries to close the distance and clinch up but Katorjnov swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Katorjnov throws a jab but it's blocked by Andrews.
Andrews tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Katorjnov swivels and escapes.
Andrews displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Katorjnov throws out the jab.
Andrews looks to land a left hand but Katorjnov moved out of range nicely.
Katorjnov throws a hook but Andrews avoids it easily.
Andrews needs to keep his hands up - Katorjnov had a free shot at his head there.
Katorjnov cracks Andrews with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Andrews looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Katorjnov finish him?
Nickolay Katorjnov seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Andrews tries a head kick but it misses.
No luck for Andrews with that takedown attempt.
Katorjnov steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Andrews is out on his feet! Katorjnov sets himself and nearly takes Andrews's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nickolay Katorjnov!
