Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jim Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henry Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Jones might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Red Nation. Torres comes into a darkened arena with his song building. No Control-You will crawl kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jim Jones has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jim Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Henry Torres! The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torres walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Torres misses the shot to the body. Torres feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Jones keeping moving, preventing Torres from controlling successfully. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jones is on top in guard.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Torres wants to sweep here but Jones controlling him for the moment. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Torres has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jones can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Torres looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jones passes into side control.

Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Torres is not content to let Jones control the position.

Torres wants to clinch up but Jones keeps it at a distance. Jones looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Jones cracks Torres with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Jones looks to land a combination but Torres avoids it well. Jones connects with a looping right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Henry Torres has been cut. Jones misses with a jab, cross combination.

enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab. Jones is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Torres throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily. Torres closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Jab by Jones. Nice defenses there by Jones. Jones is looking for a counter combo. Torres walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Jones looks to land a left hand but Torres moved out of range nicely. Torres shoots in and bounces Jones off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Jones is trying to control the position but Torres postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Torres trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom. Torres slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Torres avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Torres throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jones works some decent striking defense from the bottom. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Torres accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Torres stopping the sweep attempt from Jones. Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Torres's guard.
Jones will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Jones passes easily into side control. Nice work. Jones throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Torres is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Jones off and has taken his back! Jones is defending well here and trying to improve his position.

Torres gets his hands free as Jones looks to control. Even with his hooks in, Torres manages to miss with strikes from the back. Torres throws strikes from the back but Jones rolls nicely and manages to end up in full guard. Nice work by Jones. This has been an exciting period of action! Jones has a loose triangle. Torres looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Torres changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jones looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Torres sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Jones is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.

Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Jones. Jones tries to lock up and control but Torres gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones wants to hold on but Torres pushes him away. Torres is landing with some decent strikes but Jones is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Torres connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Jones is looking to improve his position but Torres isn't that keen on the idea. Torres tries to control but Jones wriggling away. Torres lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Jones is squirming around, avoiding Torres's attempts to control the action.

Torres raining down hammerfists from mount. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Jones regains half guard. Jones wants to get back to his feet.

Jones is staying active underneath Torres, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Torres. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Torres trying to advance position but Jones counters by regaining guard. Torres missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jones working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Torres. Torres looking to pass the guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Torres throws an elbow that misses. Jones uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Torres's guard. Nice move by Jones!
