16 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Jeffrey Sarpong! The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sarpong misses with an uppercut. Koistinen saw that one coming. A quick step to the side and Koistinen tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Koistinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Sarpong is just out of range. Sarpong moves into range and clinches up with Koistinen. Sarpong is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Koistinen is defending well for now. Koistinen goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Koistinen is looking to wear down Sarpong with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sarpong throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Koistinen throws a low kick but Sarpong avoids it. Koistinen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sarpong sees it coming and avoids it easily. Sarpong slips under a jab from Koistinen. Koistinen is looking to chop away at Sarpong's legs. Sarpong is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Sarpong avoids the body shot from Koistinen.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Koistinen lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Sarpong is trying to maintain a safe position but Koistinen gets an underhook and turns Sarpong into the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Sarpong looking to throw knees to the head but Koistinen is blocking nicely.

That was a close round but I would say that Kristus Koistinen will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Jeffrey Sarpong's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

Kristus Koistinen spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
