Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Apollo Lang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Castle!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, David Schapiro and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lang shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Castle sprawls well. Castle wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lang gets slowly back to his feet.
Lang moves out of range as Castle strikes.
Castle throws a looping overhand right but Lang ducks down to avoid it.
Lang gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Castle clinches up with Lang and pushes him back against the cage.
Lang stalls.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Lang.
Lang lands a hook to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lang wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Castle has him pressed against the cage.
Castle looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Lang is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Castle is keeping busy.
Lang comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Lang breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
We've been told by Lang's head coaches at Abobomination Training $700 13 LEGIT elite coaches that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Lang takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Castle is pawing at Lang, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Lang's nose. Lang is badly hurt! Castle pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Lang tries desperately to hold on but Castle is relentless in his assault! As Lang receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Castle away and this one is in the books!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Frank Castle!
