The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Westbrook shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Boyle as he avoids it easily.
Boyle looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Westbrook throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Westbrook just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromBoyle.
Westbrook tries to sprawl but Boyle drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Westbrook wants to control but Boyle is keeping busy.
Boyle decides to return to a standing position.
Westbrook wants to clinch
and Boyle counters with a two punch combo.
Boyle avoids the head kick by Westbrook.
Boyle swats away the attempt to clinch by Westbrook.

Nice takedown defense from Boyle. No joy for Westbrook on that attempt.
A counter left hand to the body from Boyle misses its target.
Westbrook tries a head kick but it misses.
Westbrook tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boyle paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Boyle appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Westbrook shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
As Westbrook looks to move away, Boyle throws a big counter combo bu Westbrook just gets out of the way.
Humberto Boyle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Reggie Westbrook.
Boyle throws a sloppy head kick and Westbrook moves out of range easily.

Boyle avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Reggie Westbrook seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Westbrook shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Boyle pinned against the cage. Boyle gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Westbrook looks winded!
Boyle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boyle gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Sloppy strikes from Westbrook. Those never looked like landing.
Westbrook fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Boyle closes the distance and clinches.

Boyle misses with a hook to the ribs.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Boyle takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Boyle has Westbrook pulled in close to control his posture.
Westbrook must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Boyle looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Westbrook is defending well. Boyle quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Westbrook has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Boyle celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
