Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Geraldo Ramirez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hideki Ryuga!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryuga closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ramirez pulls guard effortlessly.
Ryuga wants to control from the top but Ramirez keeps moving.

Ramirez is looking for a triangle but Ryuga pushes his legs off easily.
Ryuga engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Ramirez looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ryuga wanted to stand there but Ramirez had control of the position.
Ryuga content to stall in guard here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ramirez wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Ramirez clinches up with Ryuga and pushes him back against the cage.

Ryuga tries to work over Ramirez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Ramirez jumps guard but Ryuga stands there with Ramirez around his waist. Ramirez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Ramirez tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ramirez struggles to land a body shot inside as Ryuga controls his hands.

Ryuga manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Ramirez has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Ramirez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Ryuga wants to control the position but Ramirez says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Ryuga pulls Ramirez in close to prevent any damage.

Ryuga looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Ryuga looking to control but Ramirez passes into half guard.
Ryuga tries to get to full guard but Ramirez has control of the leg.

Ramirez trying to control from half guard but Ryuga is working away.
Ryuga is pressing down on Ramirez's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ryuga trying to keep a closed guard but Ramirez is proving a slippery customer.
Ryuga is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Ryuga has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ryuga stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ramirez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Ryuga advances to half guard.
Ramirez tries to roll over but Ryuga keeps him under control.
Ryuga wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ramirez keeps working.
Ryuga perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
A jab lands there for Ryuga.
Ryuga misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ryuga lands a two punch combo.


Ramirez is rocked!
Ryuga lands a right hook to the body.
Oh Ramirez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ryuga takes the fight into the clinch.
Ramirez fails to pull guard.
Ryuga manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Ryuga stalling the fight.

Ryuga tightens his grip and picks Ramirez up, before dumping him to the ground. Ramirez manages to land in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ryuga looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Ryuga advances position into side control!
Ryuga passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Ramirez!

Ryuga lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Ryuga drops a big elbow. That's hurt Ramirez! More shots from Ryuga and the ref steps in! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Hideki Ryuga!
A relieved looking Hideki Ryuga thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
