The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rothschild has closed the distance and engaged Deverux in a clinch.
Rothschild is trying to pull guard but Deverux has him pressed against the cage.

Deverux wants to get up but he can't break Rothschild 's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Deverux is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that King Rothschild will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Deverux thuds his right hand into Rothschild 's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Rothschild walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Deverux throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rothschild could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Rothschild rushes Deverux and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Deverux is trying to break the clinch but Rothschild has him pressed against the cage.
Rothschild tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Deverux smiles and moves away.

Deverux lands a left and a right that send Rothschild crashing to the mat, dazed. Deverux thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Deverux has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
