Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Mcconnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Artur Adriano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Artur Adriano has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Richard Mcconnell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Artur Adriano!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Adriano looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Artur Adriano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adriano fails in his attempt to clinch.
Mcconnell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Adriano as he jumps to the side.
Adriano counters with a body kick.
Adriano looks to score with a jab to the body but Mcconnell is just out of range.
Adriano misses with a head kick.
Mcconnell misses with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adriano misses with a wild combination.
Adriano tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mcconnell swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Adriano lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mcconnell's sensitive parts.

Mcconnell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Adriano's waist but Adriano gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mcconnell off to one side.
Mcconnell lands a glancing blow to the side of Adriano's head.
Mcconnell throws a sloppy head kick and Adriano moves out of range easily.

Adriano drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mcconnell is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Mcconnell is not content to let Adriano control the position.
Mcconnell parries the strikes from Adriano easily there. Adriano is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mcconnell to escape.

Adriano happy to just control the position for now.
Adriano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mcconnell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mcconnell is looking to regain half guard here but Adriano keeps moving and retains side control.

Adriano goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Mcconnell rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Adriano's guard! Nice work there by Mcconnell!

The crowd cheers as Adriano lands an impressive looking overhand right. Mcconnell doesn't seem phased though.

Adriano gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Adriano looking for a guillotine here but Mcconnell defends easily.

Adriano has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Mcconnell is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Adriano.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Adriano wants to hold on but Mcconnell pushes him away.
Adriano is looking to improve his position but Mcconnell isn't that keen on the idea.

Mcconnell goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Adriano is on top in guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Adriano throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mcconnell tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Adriano is in Mcconnell's guard.

Mcconnell looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Adriano decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mcconnell, up you get!
Richard Mcconnell is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Mcconnell misses with a wild body shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Adriano.

Mcconnell takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Richard Mcconnell has been cut.
Adriano will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
As Adriano looks to move away, Mcconnell throws a big counter combo bu Adriano just gets out of the way.

and Mcconnell counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mcconnell shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Adriano manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Adriano is breathing heavily.
Adriano controls Mcconnell momentarily but Mcconnell frees himself.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close second round but I would say that Richard Mcconnell will probably get the nod.

Adriano bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Mcconnell gets back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mcconnell is refusing to be controlled, as Adriano sits in half guard.

Adriano stands up and beckons Mcconnell to join him on the feet.

Adriano is looking for submissions but instead, Mcconnell has regained full guard.
Adriano takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Mcconnell is trying to control the position but Adriano postures up.
Mcconnell is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Adriano is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Adriano tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mcconnell manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It looked like Mcconnell was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Adriano feints and as Mcconnell raises his hands in defense, Adriano changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Mcconnell thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Mcconnell striking off his back but it's not causing Adriano any problems.
Mcconnell doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Mcconnell not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mcconnell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mcconnell lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Mcconnell is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Adriano doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mcconnell.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Well Adriano has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
