Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ray Sanders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timo Antero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Antero has chosen Talk shit, get shot as his entrance music. Ray Sanders has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ray Sanders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Timo Antero!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Antero shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sanders manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Antero is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Antero stands and throws Sanders's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Sanders dodges the ground and pound from Antero.
Sanders is looking to regain half guard here but Antero keeps moving and retains side control.

Antero is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sanders knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Antero throws a strike aimed at the side of Sanders's head but Sanders avoids it well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Antero is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Antero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
You can see the frustration on Sanders's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Antero tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Antero has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Sanders tries to buck Antero off but Antero is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Antero tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Antero thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Sanders throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.
Antero is staying tight to Sanders's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Antero advances to full mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Antero controlling from mount.
Antero is landing with some decent strikes but Sanders is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


It looks like Ray Sanders has been cut.
Antero wants to control the pace but Sanders is squirming around nicely.
Sanders working to try and regain half guard.
Antero controlling the pace for now.
Antero throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Antero cracks Sanders with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Timo Antero!
