Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Buffer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Clair Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Topper Green and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buffer walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Patterson checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Patterson throws a head kick that misses.
Patterson keeps the fight on the outside.
Buffer closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Buffer defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Patterson .
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Patterson .
Buffer keeps the fight on the outside.
Buffer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Buffer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Patterson moves away.
Patterson throws a counter combo.
Patterson misses with a takedown attempt
and Buffer counters with a series of strikes. Patterson will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Patterson counters with a left and a right that stings Buffer.
Buffer throws out a leg kick but Patterson moves out of range and Buffer only half commits.

Patterson shoots in looking for a takedown but Buffer manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Patterson 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The fighters circle momentarily. Buffer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That was a close round but I would say that Bruce Buffer will probably get the nod.

As Patterson looks to move away, Buffer throws a big counter combo bu Patterson just gets out of the way.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bruce Buffer will probably get the nod.

Buffer controls Patterson momentarily but Patterson frees himself.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Patterson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Buffer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Buffer is keen to just control but Patterson is a slippery customer.

Buffer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Patterson tries to roll over but Buffer keeps him under control.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Buffer thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Patterson 's head.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Buffer shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Buffer working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Patterson 's thigh. Patterson counters though and makes it back to full guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Buffer, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
