Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jean Paul Leblanc! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, William Furth! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Trevor Gratis and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leblanc goes for a double leg but Furth avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Furth continues to drive forward. Furth changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Nice takedown defense from Furth. No joy for Leblanc on that attempt. Furth is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Leblanc fails with the takedown. Furth with the counter takedown but Leblanc avoids it easily. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Paul Leblanc. That's going to take a lot out of him. Leblanc changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Furth tries to avoid it but Leblanc manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Furth to the ground. Furth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Furth defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Leblanc. Furth tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Leblanc dives in and grabs Furth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Furth pushes down on Leblanc's head and hops out. Furth feints the counter takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Leblanc fails with the takedown. Leblanc fails with a takedown attempt. Furth steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Leblanc.
That's one minute gone in the round. Leblanc shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Furth but Furth pushes him off and we're back to square one. And Furth tries to counter it with a takedown but Leblanc pushes his down on his head and steps out. Leblanc looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Leblanc dives in and grabs Furth's left leg, looking for a takedown. Furth pushes down on Leblanc's head and hops out. Furth with the counter takedown but Leblanc avoids it easily. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Leblanc is defended easily by Furth. Leblanc is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Furth displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Leblanc. Furth tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Leblanc tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Furth defends well and Leblanc ends up having to push Furth into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Leblanc changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Furth tries to avoid it but Leblanc manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Furth to the ground. That's three minutes gone in the round. Leblanc with a poor takedown and Furth counters by clinching up. Furth is looking to take this one to the mat. Leblanc has Furth pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Furth manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Furth gets a nice trip takedown into half guard. Furth is controlling the pace.
Furth is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Leblanc defends it well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Furth seems to be looking for submissions.

William Furth dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Leblanc tries to clinch up but Furth circles away and keeps his distance. Furth changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Leblanc looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. And Furth tries to counter it with a takedown but Leblanc pushes his down on his head and steps out. Jean Paul Leblanc is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. No luck for Leblanc with that takedown attempt. Furth is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Leblanc closes the distance and clinches up with Furth, looking for a takedown. Leblanc pushes Furth against the cage but Furth circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
