Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
26 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tigran Badoyan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
23 - 16 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Oleg Alekseev!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alekseev throws a series of punches but Badoyan moves out of range.
Badoyan swats away the attempt to clinch by Alekseev.
Badoyan quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Alekseev ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Some wild striking there from Alekseev.
Alekseev tries to clinch but Badoyan is having none of it.
Badoyan fakes the leg kick and cracks Alekseev in the body.
Alekseev misses with a series of wild punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Badoyan steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Alekseev.
It appears Badoyan was looking to counter with a kick there.
Alekseev sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Alekseev looks winded!
Alekseev misses with a right hand
and Badoyan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Alekseev thinking.
Badoyan thuds his shin into the meat of Alekseev's side.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Badoyan lands a big uppercut and Alekseev crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Alekseev looks OK. Badoyan waves Alekseev back to his feet!
It looks like Oleg Alekseev has been cut.
Alekseev walks forward, straight into a front kick from Badoyan.
A thudding body kick lands there by Badoyan!
Badoyan scores with a kick to the midsection.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Look low, kick high! Badoyan uses the oldest trick in the book to send Alekseev tumbling to the canvas, in a truly brutal knockout! Badoyan is absolutely delighted - when Alekseev wakes up, I doubt he'll be quite so happy!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tigran Badoyan!
Tigran Badoyan very nearly forgot to thank Dissolution Fight Wear amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
