Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leroy Tyson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Burmeister! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Burmeister misses with a hook. Nice takedown defense from Burmeister. No joy for Tyson on that attempt. Burmeister blocks a head kick by Tyson.
Burmeister feints and as Tyson raises his hands in defense, Burmeister changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Burmeister passes into half guard. Tyson tries to get to full guard but Burmeister has control of the leg. Tyson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Tyson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Burmeister controlling the action here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Burmeister tries to pass the half guard into mount. Tyson knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Tyson trying to get back to full guard but Burmeister takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Tyson is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Burmeister looking to control and managing it successfully. Tyson is controlling an arm, preventing Burmeister from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Burmeister can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tyson is looking to escape. Burmeister controlling from mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tyson tries to get back to half guard but can't. Burmeister takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Good control from Burmeister. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Tyson trying to get back to his feet but Burmeister is in full control for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Burmeister has got one arm under Tyson's chin. This could be trouble... Tyson trying to control the other hand but Burmeister gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Tyson has tapped out! The fight is over!
